Kitchen Scale Wholesale: Planning a Retail Range
How to build a kitchen scale range for retail: capacity bands, unit sets per market, price tiers and the carton economics behind each SKU.
Start with three capacity bands, not ten models
A kitchen scale range that sells usually covers three jobs: small-dose weighing up to about 1 kg, everyday cooking from 3 kg to 5 kg, and bulk or bakery work from 10 kg to 20 kg. Pick one or two models per band rather than listing every model in a catalog. In our line the DH-5KW reads 0.01 g up to 500 g and 0.1 g to 3 kg, the DH-C305 and DH-A30S cover the mid band, and the DH-A11 and DH-A10 reach 20 kg.
Match unit sets to the market you sell into
Metric markets need g and kg; North American shelves expect lb:oz; liquid measures need ml and fl:oz. Models differ: the DH-A11 carries five units, the DH-A303 ten, the DH-A30S ten including milk ml. Ordering one nine-unit model for a market that only uses four adds cost without adding sales, so match the list to the shelf.
Build price tiers from real differences
A workable ladder is entry, core and premium. Entry models are smaller and simpler; core models add capacity or finer steps; premium models add a wider pan, a textured platform or a higher-capacity ladder. The DH-8901 and DH-8801 sit in the everyday tier, the DH-307 and DH-406 in the large-pan tier, and the DH-8905 and DH-5KW cover compact precision.
Check carton economics per SKU
Pieces per carton decide how much stock you commit to per SKU. Across the kitchen models we list, cartons hold roughly 20 to 50 pieces and gross weights run about 12 kg to 21 kg. If a carton is too large for your first order, combine models in one shipment rather than over-ordering a single SKU.
Plan the packaging, not just the product
Color box size, carton marks and language requirements are part of the SKU. Confirm what is printed on the box, which languages are required, and whether a display carton is needed. These decisions are cheaper to make before printing than after.
