Coffee Scale Features That Matter for Pour-Over Retail
Timers, flow-rate displays, draining mats and USB charging — which coffee-scale features justify shelf space, and which are noise.

Coffee scales are a workflow product
A coffee scale is bought to solve a brewing sequence, not just to weigh. Pour-over users track dose, water weight and time together, so a scale that shows only weight leaves them reaching for a phone timer. That is why the coffee line includes timers and dedicated brewing displays.
Timers and flow rate
The DH-8702 covers 1 kg to 5 kg at 0.1 g with a built-in timer and USB charging. The DH-8705D goes further: its display head detaches from the scale and shows timer, weight and flow rate in ml/s, so readings stay visible above a brew stand.
Surface and cleanup
Coffee work is wet work. The DH-E70 carries a textured silicone draining mat over the platform, which helps protect the weighing area and gives cups and drippers a stable seat. It reads 3 kg and 5 kg at 0.1 g in g, ml and oz, and runs on three AAA batteries or USB.
Power and footprint
USB charging removes the battery-replacement support call; AAA cells remove the cable from the counter. The line offers both. Footprint matters too: the DH-8705 measures 12.7 x 14.9 x 1.9 cm, compact enough for a home brewer's counter, while larger models suit cafe bars.
Shortlist for the shelf
Match features to the price band: a timer and 0.1 g readability are the baseline; flow rate and a detachable display justify a premium. Tell ZmoTek your shelf price band and we will shortlist coffee models and confirm samples.
